Three Times Journeys – The Brand Story

If you’ve visited this website before, or you subscribe to my newsletter, you may notice that I’ve got some fresh new logos! I’m excited to share a bit more about why and how they came to be…

The inspiration for the name Three Times Journeys came from this quote: “You experience the journey three times – when you dream it, when you live it, and when you remember it.” My goals for this logo redesign were to better incorporate the spirit of that quote, and also to put more emphasis on the word “Journeys,” since that’s what I’m all about.

I really wanted to share the entire quote in my main logo, but it just didn’t create the clean look I was going for. I decided to distill it down to a simpler phrase – “Dream Trips For Discerning Travelers.” I think that’s a pretty succinct way to capture what I have to offer, and who I hope to provide it for. To me, “dream trip” could mean a couple of things. It could quite literally be an experience you’ve been dreaming about for a long time, or it could be a trip planned on more of a whim that ends up being one of the most incredible you’ve ever taken. And you, my reader, are the discerning traveler. You’re selective and you have good taste. You want something tailored to you and your travel companions, rather than the top result on Google or the resort that’s trending on Instagram. I’m here to give that to you.

You may notice that every expression of my logo now has three stars. This is my nod to the three times you experience the journey – dreaming, living, and remembering. These stars, along with my deep purple main brand color, are also nods to my own history with travel. When I was growing up, my parents would always book the first flight out to our destination. We lived about an hour from the airport, so this meant we were always leaving the house in the dark. One of my favorite things about the car ride was watching the stars fade and the color come into the sky as the day arrived. I loved the deep purple color I would sometimes see, and it has always stayed with me.

If you’ve made it this far, you may wonder why I’m sharing all of this with you. I get that. I want you to know how deeply personal Three Times Journeys is to me. Everything I do is a labor of love, and that includes planning *your* trip. It matters to me that I get it right for you.
